Riverland Dog Training Club is operated in a Club atmosphere. We welcome members from 8 years and up.
Our Instructors are all volunteers and have trained dogs most of their lives, competing in State and Nationals Championships. We look forward to passing the information we have gathered over many many years onto our members and we specialise in teaching you to train your dog, in a friendly fun environment.
All our Instructors have undergone training within the club to a syllabus set down by the Australian Canine Association and have passed both verbal and practical testing.
We believe that most dogs can be obedient faithful companions if given the right attention and training preferably from as young an age as possible, but the old saying "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" is not something we take much notice of, so you can start your dog at any age.
We use positive reinforcement in our training, rewarding the dog with voice, treats and play. This makes for a happy dog and a happy dog leads to a happy handler.
Our group classes are an excellent way to socialize your dog in a friendly, controlled environment.
We train at the Riverland Exhibition Centre, 52 Field Day Drive, Barmera (Riverland Field Days Site) - Gate B. Please see our page "trainingtimes" for further details.
All breeds of dogs are welcome at our club - pedigree or cross breed. Please feel free to come and have a look at what we do.
